Well nothings perfect but I love this form and the wood is beautiful and lustrous. The cracks are common in Cocobolo. However wood like this cannot he discarded. You have to realize wood isn’t a perfect medium but if know that then the flaws are a part of package. Some would say they give the piece character which they do. Would it be nice if if they weren’t there?, sure but we don’t deal in absolutes. We work with what we are given. The colors and figure are tremendous. I wanted to incorporate the sapwood into the piece for contrast.
