This set of vessels are turned from the root ball of a Burning Bush shrub. Not exactly the typical wood for turning but you have to try different things. I was extremely surprised at the wood itself. Very hard and close grained. Which made it perfect for turning it green. They were turned to finish thickness and then sanded and dried rapidly to induce warping. My preferred method of turning. It gives any piece a natural organic quality. Letting the wood speak and do its thing. Although I did have to make sure the grain was aligned properly in both pieces to get the same look after movement. Thanks for looking.
