Box Elder vessel. I have to admit a genuine love for the dark staining when it happens in Box Elder. It gives the wood such an individual characteristic. This piece was turned from a branch section and was heavily gnarled. This can be represented in the flecks of red throughout the piece. You just never know what you’ll find in Box Elder. The rim has been carved to provide contrast to the form.
