Box Elder hollow vessel. I have to admit a genuine love for the dark staining when it happens in Box Elder. It gives the wood such an individual characteristic. This piece was turned from a branch section and was heavily gnarled. This can be represented in the flecks of red throughout the piece. You just never know what you’ll find in Box Elder.
